Many times, the process of developing a sermon takes place of an extended period of time. In fact, some of the best applications and illustrations for a sermon come to me when I am mowing or walking. Having a worksheet to capture these ideas along with your study notes and research can become an invaluable resource when it’s time to sit down and write the sermon.
This Sermon Preparation Worksheet provides space for the critical aspects of every sermon:

As you develop your preaching calendar, create a worksheet for each week and each sermon in your series. As you begin to read and study, when you find something of value or interest, jot it down on the worksheet. For the sermon worksheet to be most effective, try and create your worksheets several weeks in advance of the date you will preach the sermon.
